Halloween, postponed

The City of Charlottesville asked us not to trick-or-treat on Thursday due to a tornado watch and thunderstorms, so we had a second night of hunkering down and got together with friends to trick-or-treat on Friday, November 1 instead. We did not have a single person ring our bell on Halloween, but had tons of traffic on the 1st, so I guess it worked!:

Both October 30th and Halloween turned out to be rainy, miserable nights.  On Wednesday, Abby's end-of-year Field Hockey fun practice was canceled for weather and was Benji's Stage Left rehearsal was just canceled. We decided to skip out on Hebrew school, Hebrew High and the gym and just hunker down at home and have a pre-Halloween celebration (at this point, we did not know that Halloween would also be canceled). We whipped up a fun dinner, carved our pumpkins, roasted the seeds and made our own candy corn popcorn balls:

End of Field Hockey Season (Senior Night 2019)

The season ended with a bang, with the JV team winning against tough competitor Western Albemarle. Sadly, the Varsity team lost, but it was still a great night to celebrate the end of the season:
