Gifts
We spread Benji's gift opening out so that he woudl have tiem to enjoy all of his new toys. We opened gifts from Kevin's family on Sunday, and boy was Benji excited:

Who knew a suitcase could be so much fun?:

Nifty tunnel from Uncle Tom and Christine:

And a trike from Uncle Chris and Aunt Annmarie (well, the handlebars are fun! Daddy is still putting the bike together):

Abby had her first softball game this past Saturday, complete with opening ceremonies for the whole league. It was a long morning, but the girls were good sports and had a blast playing "real" ball. Here they are lined up to walk onto the field:

Playing Catch-up
We have not had a chance to post this months pictures, so we are going to dump a ton of catch-up posts on the site today and tomorrow. Regular posts will resume next week. :)

Softball
Abby had her first softball practice a few weeks ago. She enjoyed it more than expected, and it has turned into a fun family activity (Benji, in particular, loves being out on the field):
He also tries really hard to join in on practice. Here he is trying to line up to bat:

10 Miles!
Kevin ran the Charlottesville 10-miler on April 3rd. We made it out to watch him cross the finish line. He did the race in good time (about an 8 minute pace), but there are a lot of FAST runners in Cville. After watching hundreds of people cross the finish line, including gray haired women and pre-teens, Abby asked "Mommy, is daddy going to come in last?" Luckily, just then we caught site of him:
Eggstravaganza
After the 10-miler, we decided to head to the Easter Egg hunt at Charlottesville High School. Abby was excited to meet the Easter Bunny and score some extra candy:

The hunt itself was nothing special, just candy strewn across the lawn, but Abby enjoyed it:

Benji seemed confused at first, but then got the hang of it. I am not sure he understood there was candy, but he likes picking things up and putting them into bags:

April Fools!
For once, Abby was not anticipating an April Fools' Day trick, and we got her good this year. Kevin told her that we were having "breakfast for dinner" because he was running late, and put Cheerios and a glass of juice on the table:

Her first hint that something was wrong was when her juice did not come out of the cup when she tried to drink it:

After realizing it was jello, she looked more closely at the cereal, which was actually potato soup with cheerios floating on top. Fooled ya!
