Student Choice Award Winner!

Last week was "Be Kind to Others" week, and Walker used it as an opportunity to encourage students to do random acts of kindness and put an end to bullying. Friday was the culmination of the week and Pajama Day (to "Put Bullying to Sleep"). Abby was very excited to wear her PJs to school:

She came home with a big surprise. The kids had participated in a school-wide election, where each student (almost 300 per grade) voted for one person in each of 5 categories, including "Most likely to lend a helping hand" and "Most likely to display good sportsmanship." The winner in each category (one boy and one girl per grade) was presented with a "Student Choice" award. Abby was chosen by her classmates as "Most likely to always include others" - wow!
