Slow news day, so thought I would post a side-by-side of the kids at the same age.

Benji's teachers sent along a few pictures from the first week of school:

Pony Party

Last weekend, our friends Elliot and Anya had a pony party at a local farm. All the kids got cowboy hats, which was a nice touch. And they even matched what our kids were wearing!:






After the pony rides, we pet some animals (including a duck!):


And played on an old-fashioned playground:

I haven't seen one of those merry-go-rounds since I was a kid.

On a Short Leash

This is one of their favorite games. Benji insists he is puff the dog, and Abby is puff-the-dog's-owner-named-Abigail. They are very creative in coming up with new things to use for a leash.

Kevin got an ipad fro school, and the kids are just obsessed with it. Even Benji knows how to work it already and loves to play Angry Birds. Welcome to the digital generation...

We took a day trip down to Richmond and finally got to take in the children's museum there. Did not bring the camera, so we are stuck with fuzzy blackberry pictures.

Benji's favorite activity was definitely this car, which had various parts that you could "repair":






Abby loved this apple tree and "picking" the apples, which she did with scary intensity (while ordering those around her to work at the same pace):

CHAMPS

Abby got to participate in the big swim meet at UVA again this year to finish off the season. Luckily, one of the coaches took great up-close pictures, so I won't post my sub-standard long-distance ones.
