The Cat Came Back

Posy has been noticeably absent for the last few months, so we were thrilled when she came to greet us in the yard this weekend:

Graduation Tea Party

The Scharfs invited us over for one last mother-daughter tea to celebrate the girls having made their college decisions and impending graduation:

Geese Crossing

After all the construction on Hillsdale Extended, we were worried that the goose crossing would disappear and we'd miss our annual viewing of the baby geese. Turns out we had no reason to fear - this year's crop is alive and well (and crossing the road):

Dartmouth Days

Dartmouth has been offering presentations and sample classes for admitted students this month, and Abby is all in. She has signed up for and attended several, particularly about design on the engineering lab:

Easter 2022

Abby had to work at CBI Sunday morning, so we got a late-ish start on the day with "brunch" that was really lunch:

After brunch, I wanted to get some pictures outside with the flowers while we were still in our fancy clothes:

Instead of a scavenger hunt, this year I made a logic puzzle for the kids to solve to find their Easter baskets:

Next up, Kevin and I hid eggs for a hunt. We've learned not to do this too far in advance or the squirrels sometimes make away with the treats:

And that's a wrap on Easter!

Easter Egg Dyeing 2022

Abby was committed. This beautiful rainbow egg took a lot of delicate work

I set a bucket list item of taking artsy pictures of our eggs in fun places after we dyed them:

Passover 2022

We had hoped to return to Maryland this year, but the timing did not work out with my cousins, so we had a quiet Seder at home with just us and Gammy. We did get a chance to have a little happy hour with them on Zoom before we started and with just 5 people we finished the Seder at a reasonable hour:

Happy 14th Birthday, Benji!

Benji's 14th Birthday fell on the last Sunday of Spring Break, and it was the first time in 2 years that we felt like we could do an outside activity. We started the night before by decorating his room:

Pop-pop's birthday poster

Video game themed decorations. These came in a giant pack and there were too many for just his bedroom so we put them in the hall and dining room as well

Presents and birthday bear

Probably the last year we'll do this, but he still enjoys it

Birthday morning asiago cheese bagel from Panera

Time for presents

He was pretty happy with this new controller for his switch

In the early afternoon we headed out to the arcade, which was the location of Benji's canceled 12th birthday. He was not interested in a party of friends, but he was itching to get back there for his birthday:

After the arcade we came home for Christian's Pizza and cake and Gammy joined us:

Computer board themed cake

Benji and I picked up a copy of the original Family Feud home game at the library sale for a dime on Saturday and we decided to try it out after dinner

We used Benji's real buzzers, which added a fun element to it
