Benji's 14th Birthday fell on the last Sunday of Spring Break, and it was the first time in 2 years that we felt like we could do an outside activity. We started the night before by decorating his room:
| Pop-pop's birthday poster |
| Video game themed decorations. These came in a giant pack and there were too many for just his bedroom so we put them in the hall and dining room as well |
| Presents and birthday bear |
| Probably the last year we'll do this, but he still enjoys it |
| Birthday morning asiago cheese bagel from Panera |
| Time for presents |
| He was pretty happy with this new controller for his switch |
| Looking at the maps in his new set of Lord of the Rings books |
In the early afternoon we headed out to the arcade, which was the location of Benji's canceled 12th birthday. He was not interested in a party of friends, but he was itching to get back there for his birthday:
After the arcade we came home for Christian's Pizza and cake and Gammy joined us:
| Computer board themed cake |
| Benji and I picked up a copy of the original Family Feud home game at the library sale for a dime on Saturday and we decided to try it out after dinner |
| We used Benji's real buzzers, which added a fun element to it |
