 One of our March bucket list items was to buy a houseplant. We ended up ordering by mail and the kids were excited to unbox them when they arrived (we ended up with a dieffenbachia and a pothos):

Universal Yums - Germany

 This month's box was Germany, which was fun. Abby is the official recorder; she likes to write down everyone's ratings of the various snacks. I caught her at her job  in this sun flare and liked how it looked:

Saint Patrick's Day 2021

 It was a work day, but I got up early-ish to bake Irish soda bread, which we enjoyed at lunch. We went all out at dinner with green spaghetti, salt and vinegar potatoes and broccoli, followed by pistachio pudding, rainbow cookies and green-and-whites from Rockland Bakery:

Engineering Car, take 1

 Benji has been working on his first major project for Engineering class - a working police car with lights and siren. He's got the first part down - the car moves on its own. Here he is testing it out for us:

Family Poker Tournamet

We played it as a knock-out Texas Hold 'Em tournament. Abby and Kevin got wiped out. We declared Benji the winner because he had the most chips left at dinnertime:

Pi Day 2021

 We went with unconventional pies this year. Kevin made spinach-feta hand pies for the main course and I made a Boston cream pie for dessert:

Mini Golf Stomping

 It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon so we went to putt putt. It was an unusual stomping of a game:

Late Winter Walk

Spring may not be hear to stay yet, but it has sure felt like it these last couple of weeks. We took a walk along the Meadowbrook Trail and there were even some flowers blooming already:

National Cereal Day

 We had a cereal buffet:

Picnic Lunch

The weather here has been glorious and we've been eating lunch outside as much as we can. For a treat last Thursday, we ordered in from our favorite sandwich shop and enjoyed the sunshine:

Mario Day (Mar 10)

 Apparently Mario Day is a thing (March 10th, or MAR10)). It was yesterday, so here is a picture of Benji playing Super Mario Brothers, which he loves playing on the Switch:

Milestone: Drive Through

 First time driving through the drive-through (Dairy Queen) feels like a milestone:

Boy and a Book

 He's been reading up a storm while we're mostly at home. He started and finished this book in less than a day:

Date Night

For Valentine's Day, I gave Kevin a subscription to a date night in a box for a couple of months. We decided to do the first box last Saturday. We ordered dinner and cocktails from Bang! first and then made the dessert that was included in the box. We decided to wait on the craft (candle making) until we were in the mood for it:

Learning to Juggle

 This was the last of our bucket list items for the month (we decided to skip star gazing in Shenandoah because the weather did not cooperate) and we tackled it on Sunday (our last chance!). We watched a 5 minute video and sort of had the hang of it by the end:

Paint-along Saturday

I've been receiving adds from our local paint studio and have been tempted to order some kits, but they are expensive and it occurred to me that we could do a paint-along at a much lower cost. After a little internet searching, I bought some canvasses on Amazon and found a bunch of fun-looking tutorials We settled on a fireworks-themed piece that we could display at the Fourth of July:
