Girls Excelling in Math 2018
Annual competition for middle school girls hosted by the Village School. All of the schools in the area send one or two 4 girl teams to compete. With 15-20 schools participating, there are generally around 120 girls in the competition. Abby's school did exceptionally well this year. Abby's team of 8th grade girls came in first and the 7th grade team came in second. In addition, in the individual competition, Abby came in 2nd place (she actually tied for 1st but lost the tiebreaker) and one of the Buford 7th graders came in 5th (the top five got prizes):
