We had a leisurely drive up to Jasper, with multiple stops to hike and take in the scenery in Banff on the way:
First stop, the Lake Louise Welcome Center (to buy a park pass):
Then on to Lake Louise:
| The pictures were a little hazy so you can't see how very blue everything was |
| The kids dipped their feet |
| Brrr! |
| Little boys and rocks |
Our next stop was an overlook on Lake Peyto:
Our last rest stop was a short hike to Bridal and Panther Falls:
| You could see Bridal Veil from the road |
| But Panther falls was hidden and the kids all said "wow" when we rounded the corner and saw it |
| Bridal Falls from farther down |
| All the plants were covered in rock dust from the falls |
| This is not a black and white picture -- you can just make out a splash of yellow flowers sheltered from the dust |
| On the way back up |
We made it to Jasper around 6:30. Tomorrow -- glacier pictures!
