A Harry Potter Birthday Party

Benji asked for a Harry Potter party this year, and we were happy to oblige. The set-up was fun:

When the kids arrived, they were each presented with a letter from Hogwarts and their supply list, and then were sent to find their money around the yard (we hid galleons and sickles everywhere):

Searching for coins

Once they had their money, they could "shop" at Diagon Alley for wands, quills, spell books and a pet:

Supplies in hand, we sent the children to be sorted into houses (by the sorting hat, of course) and receive their house pins:

Then on to lessons. Benji had 14 friends, so we divided them into groups to rotate through classes:

 Herbology:

Quidditch Practice:

Potions:

Charms:

Abby and Julia were fantastic instructors, teaching them to levitate balloons and disarm opponents (Abby said she fell down 100 times letting them disarm her)

After lessons were through, we had a Hogsmeade visit where the kids could spend their extra coins:

And then we all sat down in the Three Broomsticks for cake and drinks:
