The Pumpkin Patch

We headed out to Afton on Sunday to visit our favorite pumpkin patch. After a very satisfying hay ride, we set out to find the perfect pumpkin:


There were a lot to choose from:



Benji thought this one looked about right:


But Abby wanted something bigger:


And then even bigger:


Benji was somewhat insistent that the pumpkin be his size:


After significant testing of pumpkins, he needed a break:



Abby convinced him to look at a few she liked. Here they are deep in conversation (sort of):


Maybe the best way to make a decision is to sit on them?

Big Boy Bed

In a moment of weakness, we bought Benji a fire engine bed for his room. He was pretty excited about it, and moved all of his animals there immediately (it's a wonder they all fit):

Things got a little rocky the first night, and he wanted to go back to his crib, but he seems to have settled in now. Know anybody who needs a crib?

What Flavor Do You Want?

We ended the weekend with a trip to Ben and Jerry's last night. When asked what flavor he wanted, Benji replied "brown." We took that to mean chocolate, which he ate part with a spoon but largely with his hands, ending with this mess:



Abby got hers in a cone, which was just as messy:
