Harry Potter Halloween

For the second year in a row, the town of Scottsville has converted itself to Hogsmeade Village the weekend before Halloween. We did not make it out last year, but this year we were able to swing by for a couple of hours with our friends the Shadels and Dukes:

Halloween 2016

We had out traditional Halloween-themed dinner (Mexican this year!):

Abby opted not to trick-or-treat, but Benji inherited this cool Rubik's Cube costume from a neighbor:

We met up with our friends the Daly's and the Wolf-Cossoulos/Jones's so that the kids could trick-or-treat together:

When we swung by our house, I got a picture of all of our jack-o-lanterns lit up:

Simchah Torah 2016

Since Simchah Torah fell on a Sunday this year, the temple decided to cancel morning Sunday School in favor of "Family Sunday School" in the evening. We were asked to sign up for a learning session in advance of coming together in the sanctuary. We signed up for "Torahgami." When we got there, Abby decided to defect to another session with her friends, so it was just the three of us:

After the service, they unfurled the torah and read the beginning and end, followed by dancing (Benji's favorite part):

Shabbat in the Sukkah

From last week, we had outdoor shabbat in our finally-finished Sukkah (that we still need to take down now):
