New York Reunion

Now that the older three of us are vaccinated, we made the trip to New York last weekend to see the family. We had a really fun barbecue at Chris and Annmarie's house on Saturday and got to meet our new niece, Ruby:

Harper was shy at first but then starting playing ball with Kevin, as her cousins looked on

The boys played a lot of tag

Kevin being silly to make Harper laugh

Benji and Uncle Tom got to catch up and talk video games

Pop-pop trying to get a great picture of Ruby

Everyone is all smiles

Kevin and Chris trying to build the umbrella

Everyone wants a turn holding Ruby

Corn hole with cousins

Trying to get a family picture for Christmas cards. There were some antics, and all the kids were running to check out the pictures

How many Paquette men does it take to light a bbq? All of them, apparently.

Ending the day with some video gaming

1960s Decade Day

Another bucket list item. We had fun with this, having a themed lunch while we watched some 60s tv and a themed dinner that turned out surprisingly well:

We went with 60s convenience foods for lunch. It was the kids first time trying spaghettios. We watched I Dream of Jeannie and Gilligan's Island while we ate

We had a more elaborate dinner, starting with a wedge salad

Vegan meatloaf, mashed potatoes and waldorf salad

We ended with a jello mold

High Tea

One of our April bucket list items was to have a fancy afternoon tea, which we finally accomplished the last weekend of the month:

"Official" Bar Mitzvah Photos

When we canceled the party after Benji's bar mitzvah, we decided to hang on to the photographer to take some pictures before the service. We had hired Benji's old preschool teacher Steve, who now does professional photography, so it was a nice "full circle" moment. Here are some of our favorite pictures from him:
