All-District Band Concert 2024

Benji spent all day Friday and Saturday at all-district band prep in Culpeper, culminating in a concert Saturday night. For the second year in a row, Benji made the highest honor band, and this year he made 8th chair, also scoring an all-state audition (meaning he was the 8th best clarinet in our district made up of 21 high schools). He was also the highest-ranked clarinet from Charlottesville High School this year - all his hard work really shows!:

Swim Season - That's a Wrap!

Benji swam his last home meet on Friday night (after a long day in Culpeper for all-district band). He will travel to Blacksburg tomorrow to swim at regionals and then the season will be over. Since we won't get to see him tomorrow, I snapped a quick last pick of him in his warm-up jacket leaving the meet on Friday:

CHS Fine Arts Showcase

Every year the CHS fine arts department puts on a program for the community and prospective students to show off their various arts programs. By tradition, the band does not perform, but select band members are invited to perform as part of the "full symphony," along with the strings ensemble. Benji was one of the two clarinets asked to perform this year, which he was very happy about:
