Thanksgiving Hats

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving here in Charlottesville. Among other things, we celebrated the harvest with a locally-grown meal, and, of course, there were crafts. In preparation for the day, we made a cornucopia as a centerpiece for the table:

And also our Turkey hands:

On Thanksgiving day, we also made "thankful 4s" to count our blessings (we hung then over the table):

And, of course, hats to wear during the meal. Everyone was a good sport and wore their hats throughout the day, which provided a lot of mirth:

Only Benji refused to wear his hat, although he did let us pop it on his head occasionally:

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving as well!

Guess it's that time....

Santa rode down Fifth Avenue, so the Christmas season is officially here. Abby has already broken out her Christmas dress - it will probably be in tatters by December 25th...

Tree Lighting

Charlottesville was definitely jumping the gun, but we already had our community tree lighting. It was weird singing carols before Thanksgiving, but here is the tree all lit up.

Celebrating the Harvest

Abby's kindergarten class had a harvest feast on Friday to celebrate Thanksgiving. Luckily, pop-pop was still in town to enjoy it with us. It was fun to see Abby with some of her friends. Here she is with Tyanna in the courtyard:

Benji mostly stuck with pop-pop:

After lunch, the principal took the kids outside for some recess. Abby brought Kashef with her and they ran around with all the other k kids:

Today is the last day of school before Thanksgiving break - incredible!

What's So Funny?

Benji discovered the magna doodle this weekend, and he thinks that erasing other people's drawings is the funniest thing in the world. I did not manage to capture him laughing so hard that he was gasping for air, but here is the slightly toned down replay of him giggling at the process (sorry for the grainy blackberry quality video).
