We decided it was time for Benji to give up his preschool backpack. He was reluctant when I mentioned it to him, but when he saw that the new backpack had padded straps and a laptop compartment, he was all in:

Monthly Bucket Lists
A new tradition for our family. After finishing off our August list, the kids were eager to start on Septembers, so we went putt-putting on Monday:

Labor Day Weekend 2017
As per tradition, the Lamy-Petersons came down for Labor Day weekend:
We decided to go out for dinner on Sunday night before our friends headed home. Benji did not want Sophia to be apart from him:

Last Blast of Summer
We met our friends the Dukes and Shadels at Lake Sherando (in the George Washington National Forest) to swim and cook over a bonfire in the woods. I left my camera in the car for most of the day, but caught a few quick pics of the campfire:
