Anya's Bat Mitzvah

Last weekend, we attended our friend Anya Rothman's bat mitzvah. We all got dressed up in the morning for temple, and were actually early and had time for some pictures (in front of our massively blooming rhododendron):

We had a break in the middle of the day, and then 3 of us (Benji had an Annie performace) went back for the evening party at the Colonnade Club:

Brian's First Communion

Earlier this month we made our way up to New York to celebrate our nephew Brian's First Communion.

We arrived early Friday afternoon and were able to pick up our nephews Colin and Gavin from the bus stop. Since it was Colin's birthday in 2 days, we took him shopping to his favorite store, Michaels:

Fourth Grade Wedding (second time around)

The fourth grade classes at CBI learn about the Jewish life cycle and its various rituals. As with Abby's class, Benji's class put on a wedding as a culmination of the year:

Field Trip to Richmond

Last Saturday, we took a family field trip to Richmond. Benji and I went to see Rent at the Altria Theater and Kevin and Abby went to see The Avengers. Beforehand, we had a nice brunch together, and afterwards we went out for Ethiopian food. We all dressed up for the occasion:
