Boy Scout Court of Honor/Crossing Over

Benji attended his first Boy Scout Court of Honor last week with his new troop. The troop, as part of the court, also had a special crossing over ceremony for the new scouts joining the troop:

School's Out 2019

Last Friday was the last official day of school for the kids. Abby had no finals, having been exempted from them all with As, so she actually had the whole week off to relax. Benji was thrilled to be done with 5th grade and ready for summer:

Happy Summer! It was raining, so this actually washed away before Benji got home to see it.

Yorktown (Boy Scout Campout #1)

Last weekend, Benji went with his new boy scout troop to Yorktown Battlefield for a campout. We decided to send him without a parent as a practice run for camp this summer.  He did marvelously (despite the near constant rain):

Last Day of 9th Grade

Because Abby was exempt from all of her finals, her last day of school was last Friday (a week earlier than Benji). Here is her last day picture:

Junk Food Celebration

Abby and her lunch friends have been gleefully planning this for a while.  11 of them, each with an assignment for specific junk food to bring to share for their celebration lunch (Abby brought trader joe's takis and marshmallow fluff). They took a picture of their haul on the lunch table:

Painting Rocks

This was a fun family activity and we hid them down at Greenbrier for kids to find after we were done:
