Fall Foliage and the long trip home

On Sunday, we brought Abby back to campus. The drive over was spectacular - it seemed like the leaves changed a ton just over the weekend:

We had brunch at Abby's house professor's house and then left to drive back to Hartford for our flight. We had some extra time, so we stopped in the cute little town on Windsor on the way:

This was the tavern where the Vermont constitution was signed. It was closed, but we'll be back!

At Perkins Pond (Family Weekend 2022)

We opted to skip the Saturday events on campus and stay at the cabin. We had a cozy morning on the porch and Sean made her famous blueberry pancakes:

After breakfast, we decided to go for a walk and headed out to the Sunapee River Walk:

We were back at the cabin for lunch and then a chill afternoon. Kevin and Sean took the boat out while Abby napped and I knit. We decided on a second sunset boat cruise before dinner because the weather was beautiful. All the leaves reflecting on the lake were amazing:

After dinner, we had a cozy evening by the fire:

Aunt Sean asked us to bring her a new little pennant to represent Abby and we hung it under Kevin's

Dartmouth Family Weekend

We were so excited to travel up to Hanover for Abby's first family weekend. We got in super late on Thursday and were dragging a little bit on Friday, but were energized by being able to see our girl. We met up with her after her morning classes and had lunch on the green (we brought sandwiches from King Arthur):

After lunch, Abby had to get to class. We walked her up to her classroom in Baker tower and then looked at the very cool tower room study space:

After class, we made a quick trip to Target and then walked about back to her room to pack. We made a quick pass by the family reception before heading out to the lake for the rest of the weekend:

The sunset while we drove was amazing

First Marching Band Competition

The Marching Knights went down to Salem (near Roanoke) for their first regional competition. We were not able to attend, but Mr. Hackworth sent along pictures. Here is Benji in his brand new uniform:

Benji and I went to services at Trinity in the morning and then out to lunch at Feast:

In the afternoon, we had a family Tashlich at the Meadowbrook Bridge and then went out to Carter's Mountain to pick apples:

Family Chess Game

The last weekend in September was quiet-ish and we were able to knock off the last few bucket list items for the month, including family chess game. Saturday morning weather was classic fall - a crisp sunny morning, so we opened the windows and lit a fall-scented candle. Benji requested we play downstairs so we could listen to some of our new records while we played:
