Abby decided she did not want to take the official tour, but we peeked at the exterior, including the gardens and visited the gift shop. Here is a picture from the front steps of the house:
After the JGL house, we walked to a nearby park. Benji is very taken with the Spanish moss on the live oaks, and we finally had to forbid him from pulling any more down:
After visiting Bonaventure Cemetery and looking at the old graves, we finished up at Leopold's Ice Cream shop, which is apparently very famous in Savannah. Johnny Mercer wrote the song "Tutti Fruity" about it, and you can still buy that ice cream flavor (we didn't, but I did get Lemon Custard, which is another of their original 1919 flavors):
After the ice cream, we decided we were all tired and headed to the hotel for the evening.
