We rented a cabin on the Quileute Reservation for two nights, so after two pretty long days we decided to have a quieter day. We spent the morning napping, reading and doing laundry (which worked out well because it was a rainy morning), before setting out mid-afternoon for Second Beach:

We expected the tidal pools to be similar to yesterday's, but they had more plant life, with all different types of seaweed and kelp:

As we were wading, we spotted something moving in the distance and realized it was some sort of aquatic mammal. Kevin swore it was a seal, but a closer look revealed it to be an otter playing/resting in the waves:
While watching the otter, we spotted some movement in the trees and caught a bald eagle taking off:
We headed back to La Push for dinner and evening time at First Beach, complete with bonfire, sunset and fireworks:
