Monticello Adventures Camp

Abby went to camp at Monticello July 15th-19th. It was a great week, and the kids got to tromp all over the place and take part in activities happening all over the estate, including surveying, an archeology dig, working in the garden, and making ice cream from Thomas Jefferson's recipe. On the last day, the had a celebration and invited the families to come and see some of their work.

Abby was very proud of helping the group finish this puzzle.  They were the only campers this summer to do so.

Trying to use the ball and stick

The counselor told them "Look, there's George Washington" and then placed the ball on the stick.  Benji thought this was hilarious.

And proceeded to copy it.  Many times. (This is also the picture when I finally remembered to change the white balance on my camera for the indoor shots.  Sigh...)
