Philly Day #2

We woke up Saturday morning in Philly and had a full day of sightseeing planned. We decided to see the mint before brunch, but the little kids needed some fuel first:

Benji was very excited to purchase a Quarter Book at the mint

There were no pictures allowed inside, so we took some outside

After brunch, we walked to Independence Hall to see where the Declaration of Independence and Constitution were signed:

This was a separate building that housed the first Supreme Court

After that, we made our way to the Liberty Bell complex:

And then to the Franklin museum:

We got to see his restored print shop

I love how this picture captures their different personalities

Ran into law school friend Jenny Wieland completely randomly in the courtyard (she lives in Kansas!)

The museum was cool and interactive

Plus we ran into Ben Franklin outside! Benji had some questions....

After lunch, we went to Franklin Park and played Philly-themed mini-golf:

In the evening, we made our way down to Penn's Landing for another round of spectaculor fireworks, this time accompanied by "Pershing's Own," the US Army Band.
