Gathering 2019: A Long Weekend in Lake Geneva

We met our Gathering crew at a rented B&B in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin (we had decided on the location because everyone could fly to Chicago directly). Although we had just met up last year in Utah, the oldest kids had wanted to get together again, and we certainly were not going to say no. This year the Kayandes came from Calgary, The Choe-Stones from Sacramento, The Shuldiners from Berkeley, The Kaplans from Minneapolis and us and the Lamy-Petersons from Virginia. It made a fun crew, with Jules, Abby, Drew and Neena hanging out for teen things and Benji, Sophia, Katie, Anand, Oscar and Wesley doing younger kid stuff. Allan and Tawen bravely brought their two young ones, Adam (3) and Daniel (1), which was awesome since it was our first time meeting Daniel:

First night ice cream run (there was also a second night ice cream run)

On Saturday, we took the kids to the beach in the morning:

In the afternoon, we went paddleboarding and canoeing:

It rained on Sunday, so we mostly stayed in and played games:

And group pictures:

Alex brought all the men t-shirts with a New Yorker cartoon as part of their OHS bonding (oppressed husband's club)
