Road Trip 2021: Concord, Massachusetts

I was pretty excited to discover that Concord was on our route, so we decided to spend Tuesday night there after finishing up our Boston tour. Alex and Jules kept their hotel in Cambridge but joined us for the evening:

We visited Walden Pond while the girls and Alex went to Northeastern

Benji and Thoreau

A replica of Thoreau's cabin

After the rest arrived, we visited Louisa May Alcott's house

And the Old North Bridge

We had dinner in one of the oldest restaurants in the US (and it was good!)

And then made out way back to the hotel for a game of Alhambra

In the morning, we made a few more stops before heading to New Hampshire. First was just a drive-by of Ralph Waldo Emerson's house (which is still closed)

Second (and last) was Sleepy Hollow Cemetery and its famous Author's Ridge. Pencils for Thoreau

It's amazing that so many famous writers were all from Concord!
