Road Trip 2021: A little time on Perkins Pond

We drove from Bowdoin to Sunapee where we met Aunt Sean at her Cabin. We spent Thursday afternoon, all day Friday and Saturday morning there, and we were joined by a rotating host of cousins:

When we arrived on Friday, cousin Patrick and his family were already at the cabin and they brought their speed boat, which is big enough for water skiing or to tow a tube. Benji decided he was game for the tube, which he did with Eddie and Elyse

Benji had a huge smile the whole time

Even after he was flung off the tube -- he got right back on

Abby stayed on the boat

Kevin took a turn on the tube as well, but he said he was scared of throwing one of the kids off

Patrick explained the boat's giant motor to Benji

Patrick and his family left Friday after dinner, so it was just us and Sean for most of Saturday (Kevin's birthday). Sean took us on a nearby hike to some waterfalls

We had a short rain storm in the afternoon, which cleared up for a beautiful evening (and this rainbow)

Sean encouraged us to go out on a sunset cruise in her little motor boat. She also encouraged Benji to be the one to drive, which he enjoyed

The lake was beautiful at sunset

We bought Kevin's cake on Thursday on our way to the cabin. Elyse saw it come in and was disappointed when she found out it was not for Thursday, so Kevin offered her a piece (missing from the corner here). Cousin Mike's wife Jessie and their son Benny were able to join us after dinner but in time for cake.

Patrick and family arrived back on Saturday morning and fired up the big boat again. Both Eddie and Elyse took turns water skiing (Benji is helping Elyse with her skis here)

After the water skiing, the tube came out again, this time with Benny, Benji and Elyse

Elyse, Benny and Benji were observing a salamander Elyse caught

We tried to wait for Mike to arrive before leaving Saturday, but Kevin was nervous about Boston traffic so we hit the road right before lunch time. More on Boston tomorrow!
