In order to break up the trip from Killington to Old Orchard Beach, we made a stop at the Robert Frost State Historic Site in Derry, NH. The Robert Frost Farm Historic Site was home to Robert Frost and his family from 1900-1911, most of the years in which he and his wife had a young family and before he was commercially successful. The property stayed in the family well past when he become famous, and the state acquired it as an historic site shortly after the poet's death:
The tour of the house was interesting. Some of the furniture is original, and all of it is from the area from the era that Frost lived there:
